Solus Amor and My Land have been invited to leading Dutch cultural festivals: Recirquel’s two cirque danse shows, both directed and choreographed by the company’s artistic director, Bence Vági will be performed 17 times during August in the Netherlands. 

My Land will play between 13th and 22nd of August 2021 in the program of Noorderzon, a festival of performing arts attracting over 135 thousand visitors each year to Groningen, a city situated in the Northern part of the Netherlands. The festival combining international art productions with a classical summer festival vibe takes place on stages and in tents erected in the city’s downtown area. The very colourful festival program offers theatre and dance performances, musical and literature works, as well as visual arts productions from all around the world. Organised for the 31st time this year, Noorderzon is often the first place where international companies present their work for the first time in the Netherlands.

My Land‘s ten shows in the program of Noorderzon are already sold out. The piece has been performed in the program of several cultural festivals around Europe, after premiering at Edinburgh’s Fringe in 2018, where based on the opinion of critics, it became the best show in the program of the entire Edinburgh Festival that year.

Recirquel is a household name at Netherland’s leading cultural event, Cultura Nova. It is the forth year that the company is invited to the festival: after My Land (in 2019), Paris De Nuit (in 2018) and The Naked Clown (in 2015), Cultura Nova invited Solus Amor to Heerlen. It marks the international festival premiere of Recirquel’s most recent cirque danse production that premiered last autumn in Müpa Budapest. Solus Amor will be performed 7 times between 27th and 29th August 2021 in the program of the ten-day festival presenting dance, music, film and visual arts productions from all around the world.

It is the second time that Cultura Nova even selected the Recirquel production to be the leading program of the festival and uses a Solus Amor photograph as the key image in its communication, on posters, leaflets, and so on. In 2019 a My Land image was selected for the same purpose.
